Janicki Industries is an innovative, family-owned aerospace company located at the foot of the Cascades. We focus on engineering and manufacturing complex projects for companies in the aerospace, defense, and space industries. We are looking for an Automation Technician to join our growing team.

This position is located on-site in Sedro Woolley, Washington State.

Department Summary:

Assists the Automation and Design Departments in the assembly of automated 5-axis CNC machines, robots, waterjets and various automated process control equipment on an internal and external project level.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the assembly, commissioning, fault diagnosis, and repair of electrical/electronic and mechanical equipment in an industrial environment
  • Maintains inventory of consumable and repairable electrical/mechanical components for immediate installation
  • Required to travel to company and customer facilities, in and out of state, for short periods of time as projects demand
  • On occasion, be available after hours for diagnostic and repair of industrial machinery
  • Shall, always, demonstrate cooperative behavior with colleagues and supervisors
  • Comply with all JI Safety, 5S and HazMat practices
  • Must work well under pressure, meeting and completing multiple deadlines
  • Must be at work on time and maintain good attendance. This is a condition of employment and is an essential function of the job.
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Basic Qualifications:

  • Due to our ITAR and EAR regulations, applicants must be a US Citizen or of Legal Permanent Resident Status as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b (a) (3).
  • High school diploma or GED with three to five years of specialized Electronic training after high school. Minimum requirement for all positions is a high school diploma or GED.
  • Basic understanding of industrial electrical and mechanical systems to include motors, generators, compressors, sensors, AC/DC power/control systems, and hydraulic/pneumatic/nitrogen system components including pumps, accumulators, reservoirs and other pressure vessels
  • Be capable of working in a UL508a Industrial Control Panel shop and a field environment building specialized industrial machinery
  • Be capable of interpreting electrical schematics, P&ID’s, CAD, blueprint and mechanical assembly drawings
  • Must be willing to travel 25-40% of the time
  • Must have effective verbal and written communication skills in the English language

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Industrial or Aeronautical discipline or an Associates of Science in a Technical Field preferred

      ADDITIONAL INFORMATION 

      • Wage range for this role is between $21 - $35 an hour plus a discretionary bonus, 401(k) matching, vacation, and health benefits. Employees can also receive additional pay for off-shifts, off-site work, and access pay. The range provided is Janicki’s estimate of the base compensation for this role. Actual amount offered will be based on job-related and non-discriminatory factors such as experience, location, education, training, skills, and abilities
