Controls Specialist III

The Traveling Controls Specialist III position involves traveling to job sites throughout the Greater Atlanta Area to install, troubleshoot, and maintain advanced HVAC control systems. The ideal candidate has proven experience with building automation systems, exceptional technical skills, and a commitment to delivering top-tier service to clients. Travel is required as needed. 

Job Responsibilities (List is not inclusive)

· Install, program, and troubleshoot advanced HVAC control systems.

· Diagnose and repair components such as sensors, actuators, and controllers.

· Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.

· Partner with engineers and field teams to ensure optimal system performance.

· Accurately document service activities, system settings, and maintenance records.

· Provide guidance, training, and technical support to junior technicians.

· Adhere to all safety regulations and company procedures.

· This position requires travel to the assigned job site.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities 

· Minimum of 5 years’ experience in HVAC controls or building automation systems.

· Proficient with control platforms including Trane, Johnson Controls, Carrier, Aaon, and Honeywell.

· Solid knowledge of HVAC operations, electrical wiring, and networking principles.

· Strong problem-solving abilities paired with effective communication skills.

· Valid driver’s license with the ability to travel regularly to job sites.

· Willingness to travel up to 60% or more of the time.

Education and Experience

· High school diploma or GED equivalent is preferred. 

· At least 5 plus years of experience. 

Physical Requirements 

· Required to stand, walk, and sit.

· Talk or hear, both in person and by telephone.

· Use hand (s) and fingers to handle or feel objects or controls. 

· Reach with hand (s) and arm (s). 

· Regularly required to stoop, kneel, bend, crouch and lift up to 50 pounds.
