Do you want to work for a Championship organization? We have the job for you! The Miami HEAT Engineering team is seeking an Engineer/ HVAC Technician! Under general supervision, the HVAC Technician is tasked with monitoring, repairing, and maintaining a variety of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems. This position ensures that all systems operate efficiently and safely, supporting facility operations to the highest standard.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
The HVAC Engineer will perform the following duties, with additional responsibilities assigned as necessary:
- Operate and repair the facility’s HVAC system to achieve safe and optimal functionality.
- Monitor HVAC system performance using the Building Automation System (BAS), assess operational status, and proactively identify potential concerns such as temperature deviations, abnormal energy consumption, or equipment faults. Implement corrective actions as needed, including adjusting setpoints, scheduling maintenance, or notifying technical staff to ensure safe and optimal functionality.
- Contribute to the development and execution of preventative maintenance programs and standard operating procedures for HVAC equipment.
- Conduct preventative maintenance, repairs, modifications, and routine operational tasks on facility HVAC systems.
- Accurately record and log all work in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) in a timely manner.
- Respond promptly to visual and audible alerts from building automation and life safety systems.
- Operate equipment such as light trucks, pallet jacks, forklifts, scissor lifts, and other power-driven machinery as needed.
- Maintain inventory of spare parts and supplies, process requisition forms, and coordinate procurement and pick-up with vendors.
- Work extended or irregular hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays as required.

- Possessing any licenses, certifications, or training mandated by local, state, or national authorities for HVAC system operation.
- Working independently and exercising sound judgment in handling incidents and routine matters.
- Holding a valid license and insurance to operate motor vehicles within the facility’s state.
- Maintaining flexibility and adapting to changing situations as they arise.
Education and Experience
Candidates should possess a high school diploma, G.E.D., or vocational training along with a minimum of two years of relevant experience. Equivalent combinations of education and experience may also be considered.
