This role is responsible for performing all levels of repairs and maintenance to a variety of commercial refrigeration equipment including electric motors, compressors, RTUs, compact multi-compressor refrigeration units, remote condensing units, walk-in coolers, freezers and self- contained refrigerators. General knowledge of energy management systems such as DanFoss, CPC and alarming.  Additional responsibilities include troubleshooting electronic components, demonstrating mechanical aptitude, reading diagrams, construction documents and schematics.  Performing installations and replacements of refrigeration system components and associated equipment.  Completing accurate service tickets, providing receipts and reporting daily time within Verisae, our work order management system, Google and utilizing a Chrome book. This is a full time, Union position with benefits including vacation, sick days, personal time, 401K and health insurance.  On the job training will be provided.

Minimum Requirements

• 2 years technical Refrigeration/HVAC trade school

• EPA 608 certificate to purchase and handle refrigerant

• Class E Chauffeur’s Driver’s License

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

• Must be flexible to work on-call and be willing to take after hours emergency overtime calls as needed

• Have strong analytical problem-solving skills to diagnose issues with refrigeration systems

• Effectively handle all code violations and ensure all corrections are made in accordance with Food Safety and other regulatory requirements.

• The strong ability to work independently, communicating break/fix actions with management and store teams.

• The ability to lift and carry equipment up to 50 pounds, work off ladders and on roofs 

• Abide by safe work practices and policies established by the Company
